Hiyoshiya and Hiyoshiya Craft-lab are pleased to announce their participation in the Tokyo International Gift Show Spring 2025 – 17th Life & Design, held from February 12 (Wed) to 14 (Fri) at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s largest trade fair for design and lifestyle goods.

In collaboration with regional craft producers from Tokushima, we will also present a curated selection of products that highlight Japan’s unique materials, craftsmanship, and the stories behind each maker. Through these works, we hope to share the continuity of craftsmanship from past to future.

DENTO TOKUSHIMA

Stories Woven by Tokushima’s Tradition and Craftsmanship

DENTO TOKUSHIMA is a craft initiative that introduces new works by producers from Tokushima to audiences across Japan.

The collection includes a wide range of products rooted in Tokushima’s material culture and techniques, such as Awa indigo dyeing, Awa shijira weaving (traditional textile), Ōtani ware ceramics, Awa washi paper, woodcraft, mirrors, and hanging scrolls.

A New Form of Kyoto Wagasa for Everyday Life

Hiyoshiya, in collaboration with Paris-based craft artist and designer Céline Wright, will present a Japan-exclusive pendant light series along with a new collection of “KOTORI” lighting using special Japanese washi paper made with the rakusui (water-texture) technique.

These works express a soft and gentle light designed to accompany everyday living.
