Hiyoshiya will participate in the 21st Kyoto Tradition Craft Experience Fair - Enjoy Using, Enjoy Displaying: The Art of Kyoto, to be held on November 22 (Sat) - 23 (Sun), 2025.

This event brings together a variety of Kyoto’s traditional craft ateliers, offering visitors the chance to experience the techniques and spirit of Kyoto craftsmanship through hands-on workshops. The event venue is located at the Wakasa Seikatsu Kyoto Head Office, 2nd Floor, WAKASA & CO. (STAGE), Shijo Karasuma, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. Hiyoshiya Workshop:

Crafting a Mini Wagasa (Japanese Traditional Umbrella), approx. 30-40 minutes

Under the guidance of skilled craftspeople, you will make your own small-size Japanese umbrella using traditional materials and techniques passed down through generations in Kyoto. You can take your finished umbrella home as a memento.

This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with artisans and experience the touch and beauty of Kyoto’s traditional craft culture.
