Our team recently visited the exhibition and was captivated by the historic hina dolls and their refined expressions.

Rooted in the tradition of wagasa (Japanese umbrella), Hiyoshiya’s lighting “KOTORI” is displayed beside the dolls, reminiscent of the delicate glow of bonbori lanterns.

The soft light, diffused through washi paper, gently illuminates the dolls, creating a serene atmosphere as if the dolls are quietly conversing with one another.

We hope you will visit Kamigyo Ward Government Office to experience the beauty of hina dolls and the warm glow of wagasa inspired lighting, celebrating Kyoto’s seasonal festival.
