Hiyoshiya, Kyoto Wagasa, will be joining the “Kyoto Traditional Crafts Experience Event” hosted by Wakasa Seikatsu.
The event brings together traditional Kyoto craftsmen and artists, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty and appeal of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
As autumn begins to arrive in Kyoto, we invite you to discover the joy of making something by hand and experience the techniques and materials that have been passed down through generations.
Friends and families are warmly welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.
At the Hiyoshiya booth, you can enjoy two hands-on workshops:
・Mini Wagasa (Japanese Umbrella) Making Workshop
A popular workshop where you can create your own miniature Kyoto-style umbrella.
・Table Lamp Making Workshop Using Traditional Wagasa Techniques and Materials
Create a unique table lamp inspired by the structure and materials of Kyoto wagasa.
Through these experiences, you can learn about the history, structure, and materials of wagasa while discovering the craftsmanship that has been passed down in Kyoto for generations.
We hope you will enjoy a special autumn day filled with traditional craftsmanship and creativity.
