Hiyoshiya, Kyoto Wagasa, will be joining the “Kyoto Traditional Crafts Experience Event” hosted by Wakasa Seikatsu.
The event brings together traditional Kyoto craftsmen and artists, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty and appeal of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Held during the Gion Festival season, when Kyoto comes alive with the energy of summer, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover the joy of making something by hand.
Friends and families are warmly welcome.
We look forward to seeing you there.
At the Hiyoshiya booth, you can enjoy two hands-on workshops:
・Mini Wagasa (Japanese Umbrella) Making Workshop
Create your own miniature Kyoto-style umbrella and experience the beauty of traditional wagasa craftsmanship.
・Table Lamp Making Workshop Using Traditional Wagasa Techniques and Materials
Create a unique table lamp inspired by the structure and materials of Kyoto wagasa.
Through these experiences, you can learn about the history, structure, and materials of wagasa while discovering the traditional techniques that have been passed down in Kyoto for generations.
Come and enjoy a special summer experience in Kyoto, surrounded by the vibrant atmosphere of the Gion Festival.
