TAIZA Project Groundbreaking Ceremony Announced - A New Cultural Tourism Hub in Kyoto Prefecture Carrying 300 Years of Tradition into the Future

This is Kotaro Nishibori of Hiyoshiya and Hiyoshiya Craft-Lab. For many years, we have embraced the philosophy that tradition is continuous innovation, pursuing our own manufacturing while supporting traditional industries across Japan.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the TAIZA Project, a major initiative aimed at revitalizing the silk textile industry centered on Tango Chirimen, a silk weaving tradition with more than 300 years of history on the Tango Peninsula, while also serving as catalyst for regional revitalization in areas facing depopulation.

Located in the Taiza district of Kyotango City, the project will repurpose seven former factory buildings of the defunct Nakaken Textile Mill, along with ten nearby vacant traditional houses. The facilities will be transformed into a central hub for cultural exchange and industrial tourism in the region.

Hiyoshiya Craft-Lab (TCI Institute) is overseeing the project’s overall production. In my concurrent role as Executive Officer of REVIVE Co., Ltd., the operating company, I am fully committed to the successful realization of this initiative.

We are pleased to invite you to a groundbreaking ceremony and press announcement as outlined below.

We sincerely look forward to your participation.
