Bridging Tradition to the Future 〈Weaving Japanese Heritage Together with Children〉

Weaving the Warmth of Japanese Traditions Together with Children

Creating meaningful experiences where children can discover and connect with the richness of Japanese traditions.

Traditional crafts and industries are often perceived as something special or distant. Today, opportunities to encounter them in everyday life are becoming increasingly rare.

However, the local crafts and industries that have developed across Japan are not extraordinary objects reserved for special occasions. They were born from daily life, shaped by the climate, culture, and wisdom of each region, and carefully passed down through generations.

At the same time, lifestyles continue to change. Many customs and traditions that were once an essential part of everyday life are gradually fading away.

HIYOSHIYA Craft-lab (TCI Institute) believes that children can naturally connect with Japanese culture through play and hands-on experiences.

Play is the foundation of a child's growth and learning. The first step is to discover, to touch, and to experience.

By creating opportunities to learn through making, exploring, and enjoying, we hope to inspire curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation for Japan’s traditional crafts and culture.
